SUBJECT: How To Beat Brain Block When Writing Sales Copies

It’s scary to feel stuck when you have many things you would like to communicate, but somehow lose the train of thought. Brain block is not a good friend, you know. It can make one look stupid.

I am sure you can still remember the last time you hear brain block…

Perhaps it was a public speaking presentation when it stole your show from you…

Or it was during the time when you wanted to communicate something to someone and you just couldn’t find that word that has been in your head for long.

Or maybe during an exam… (This is way scarier than you can imagine)

Or maybe while writing an article, book, report…

I know that feeling because I once experience brain-block in exam hall. It was crazy!

We were writing a Physiology exam that day and I had not caught enough sleep the previous night due to the many things I needed to cover up.  I got the question papers, I saw that it weren’t as had as I supposed, so I started writing…

I move from one question to another, and then the unexpected happened.

What I knew just flew into thin air.

I needed to write an essay on a question with a relatively big mark and I just forgot?

No way. My heart started racing because it was a professional exam, failing it will mean re-sit

While looking for the word to trigger my lost thoughts, I heard the timekeeper shout 30minutes more!

That’s when I started giving my brain some heads-up…

“Oh, brain… You wouldn’t fail me”

“This is a professional exam”

“I know this stuff. It’s easy, so bring it on fast…”

Then, I went onto to another question and while writing, my brain started remembering the answers to the previous question I just skipped.

I quickly jotted down the points so my brain won’t play me again.

And then, I learnt the lesson…

There are several reasons that cause brain block today…

Stress. Lack of indepth research. No motivation. Dehydration. Hunger 🙂 ….

Plus, I have also got one recipe that beats brain block almost every time…

In any field. Public speaking. Copywriting. Book writing….

It is movement…

It’s called Brain-Block remember and the easiest way to remove an obstruction to to make movement either to take it out or to break it.

When you feel stuck in writing your sales copies or any other writings, just move…

Write filler words like blah blah blah. Don’t worry, it doesn’t have to make sense. I can sure bet you that your brain will pick the next signal…

Or, you could do something unrelated. Listen to good music, play a game, rest, catch fun, go for a walk, eat…

Whatever, just keep moving. And if it were some public speaking presentation? Use that time to ask the audience questions.

What do you think about xyz?

Can you hear me from the back?

Got that? Great.

Talk later
